Indulge in an extraordinary evening of enchantment on Capt Andy's premiere Kauai sunset cruise. Prepare to be whisked away on a captivating journey along the breathtaking Na Pali Coastline and witness the sun gracefully setting over the Pacific Ocean. Afternoon light is amazing on Na Pali. See rich hues of green, red and black as the setting sun highlights the many sharp ridge lines and valleys that make this coastline unique. After heading North up Na Pali we’ll enjoy a relaxing downwind cruise and sunset at sea.
The Na Pali Dinner Sunset Sail is our premier "dinner with a view" experience. Sunsets at sea, viewed from the Star are spectacular. Passengers will enjoy a panoramic view of the entire coastline from Haena to Milolii, with the "forbidden" island of Ni'ihau in the distance. Each day is unique, as the light reacts with clouds and landscapes. Rainbows frequently add color to the distant mountains.
The sail starts with a short briefing and introduction as we depart from Port Allen and head West, then North and upwind on the Na Pali (depending on the conditions).
Meanwhile our team of onboard chefs will get busy preparing the fresh meal. Unlike other charter boats, The Star is equipped with a full galley (kitchen) and bar. This means that the meal can be prepared fresh onboard instead of the standard practice of pre-cooking food.
On most days the Hawaiian tradewinds are blowing from the East, which makes for a perfect downwind sail once we reach our turnaround point. The crew's objective on this sail is to position the boat for a calm, downwind sail during dinner service. Once we reach our turnaround, the crew will power down the boat's twin diesels and hoist the massive mainsail and jib. Now you're set up for some sailing, relaxing and yummy food.
We time the sail to pull in at Port Allen near dusk, our goal is to return you to shore safe, happy and full.

Attire: We suggest bringing layers (including a light jacket), sunblock, sunglasses and a camera. You can always change onboard. There is no snorkeling on this trip.
Facilities: Our passengers enjoy large shaded cabin areas, comfortable cushioned seating and clean restrooms.

Winter Alert: Seeing the Na Pali Coast and in water activities are weather dependent. Your captain is checking on the conditions and receiving weather reports for your trip right up to departure time. Typically the decision on destination, water activities or cancellation is made 30 minutes prior to departure. We’ll let you know at check-in. Wherever we go, it will be a super fun day on the water!

Our Na Pali Dinner Sunset Sail is the premier "dinner with a view" experience. You will enjoy a panoramic view of the entire coastline of Kauai from Haena to Milolii, with the "forbidden" island of Niihau visible in the distance. Each day is unique, as the light reacts with the clouds and landscapes. Rainbows frequently add color to distant mountains, and our sunsets at sea are spectacular.
The cruise will start with a short briefing and introduction as you depart from Port Allen. You will first head west and then turn to the north to reach the Na Pali Coast. Meanwhile our onboard chef will begin preparing a fresh and delicious meal for you. Unlike any other charter boats on Kauai, our Star catamarans are equipped with a full galley (kitchen). This means that your meal will be freshly prepared onboard.
On most days, our Hawaiian trade winds blow out of the east, which makes for a perfect downwind sail once we have reached our turnaround point on the Na Pali Coast. The crew's goal is to position the boat so as to allow a stable downwind sail during dinner service. Once we reach our turnaround point, the crew will power down the boat's twin diesel engines, hoist the mainsail, and unfurl the jib, setting you up to relax and enjoy a delicious meal along with some beverages of your choice.
We time our tour to return to Port Allen at dusk.

Winter Alert: The island of Kauai is known for its rugged beauty and its unique ocean conditions. The same extreme elements that have shaped the landscape sometimes prevent us from comfortably exploring the Na Pali Coast, and in-water activities are always weather and ocean conditions dependent. Your captain will continually monitor the weather and will be receiving reports about local ocean conditions right up to your departure time. We will notify you approximately 90 minutes prior to departure via a text to the number you provided at booking to advise you of any destination changes the weather and/or ocean conditions may make necessary. Wherever we go, it will be a super fun day on the water!
