Overview

Start your day with a relaxing sail along Kaua‘i’s legendary Na Pali Coast, where 4,000-foot cliffs, sea caves, and cascading waterfalls meet the open ocean. This scenic morning cruise is perfect for those who want to take in the island’s most dramatic views, without getting in the water (want to snorkel, check out our Star Snorkel BBQ Sail).

Hop aboard our spacious sailing catamaran and enjoy a smooth ride with plenty of room to lounge, sip, and soak it all in. Our expert crew is here to share stories, spot wildlife, and make sure you're well taken care of from start to finish.

Expect to see Hawaiian spinner dolphins, green sea turtles, and, in season, humpback whales. Midway through the cruise, enjoy a freshly grilled BBQ lunch, crafted with island-sourced ingredients and served with a side of salt air.

All the magic of Na Pali, no mask or fins needed.

Includes: 65' Star Yacht, continental breakfast, BBQ lunch, beverages, sailing, whales (in season).

Note: This is one of Capt Andy's boat tours without snorkeling.

Important: Our custom‑built catamarans are engineered for maximum stability and comfort, delivering one of the smoothest rides in Hawaiʻi. Still, this is the open ocean—conditions can shift, and the ride may be rougher than it appears in photos. You should expect motion and to get wet. Swells are more common in winter and spring, while summer generally brings calmer seas. Before departure, your captain will brief you on the day’s conditions so you know exactly what to expect. If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking medication before boarding to ensure a comfortable experience.

Itinerary

This exclusive morning sail offers a front-row seat to the raw beauty of Kaua‘i’s iconic coastline. Departing at 9 am from Port Allen on the island’s west side, you’ll cruise past sweeping views of Niihau, Polihale, and the dramatic ridgelines of Kōke‘e as we head toward the Na Pali Coast. Morning departures usually bring calmer seas and lighter winds, perfect conditions for a smooth and unforgettable journey. Does not include snorkeling.

As we travel north, keep an eye out for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, often found cruising alongside our catamaran in large pods. Along the Na Pali, you’ll see towering sea cliffs, lush valleys carved by time, cascading waterfalls, and hidden sea caves. Our crew, deeply knowledgeable in the history, legends, and geology of this coastline, will bring these vistas to life with stories of the ancient Hawaiian communities that once thrived here.

Once we reach our turnaround point, the sails go up, the engines go quiet, and the real magic begins. Enjoy a serene downwind sail back along the coast with uninterrupted panoramic views and open-ocean breezes.

Midway through the sail, you’ll be treated to a delicious BBQ lunch freshly prepared in our onboard galley. Sip on island beers or a glass of wine from our open bar, available after we’ve turned for home and the sightseeing is in full swing.

We’ll time your return to Port Allen for 1:30 pm, leaving you the rest of the day to bask in the glow of the morning’s adventure.

Facilities

Our Star Class Yachts—the Northern Star, Southern Star, and Nā Pali Star—are 65’ custom‑built sailing catamarans and the finest fleet in Hawaiʻi. Designed for stability, comfort, and open‑ocean performance, each catamaran offers multiple beautifully appointed spaces to relax during your adventure.

Lay on the large bow trampolines (for sunbathing, not jumping), settle into the front seating with sweeping panoramic views, or enjoy the cushioned lounges and tables across the aft deck, where teak decking adds a warm, polished feel underfoot.

Inside, the shaded, air‑conditioned lounge offers comfortable seating complete with a bar. Each yacht also includes two clean, well‑maintained restrooms, ensuring comfort from departure to return.

What to Bring

Bring layers for changing conditions; a light jacket, sweatshirt, or windbreaker all work well. Pack reef-safe sunblock, sunglasses, and a camera or phone for photos. You won't wear shoes on board, but sandals or easy-to-remove shoes make boarding smoother. There are dry storage areas on the boat, but a small bag helps keep your essentials organized.

If you’re prone to motion sensitivity, take precautions before boarding.

Note: You can always change or add layers once underway.

Departs
